Griffin Cares Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support for families who are coping with a pregnancy or infant loss.
We offer peer-focused support services and are committed to promoting excellence in perinatal bereavement care.
We are so very sorry for the loss that has led you here. When our son, Griffin Matthew, died at 13 days old in July of 1996, our lives were turned upside down. We didn’t know who to talk to, and it took us months to find support to begin to cope with our grief. A chance event connected us to some other bereaved families, and they became our lifeline. Once we started to catch our breath, a question came to mind: Why did this all have to be so hard?
For over 25 years, we have been working as activists, fundraisers, advisors, and mentors to help families connect with other families and access the peer support, resources, and care they need to find their way from grief to healing following a pregnancy or infant loss. After initially focusing our efforts on our local community, we are proud to have expanded our program to support more families in partnership with our dedicated Board, compassionate volunteers, and generous donors.
Please know that whatever grief you are facing, you are not alone. Our hearts are with you, and the Griffin Cares community is here to help.
Warmly,
The blue moon has been a meaningful symbol for us ever since it lit up the sky the night Griffin was born. When Griffin died, we thought that pregnancy and infant loss was something that only happened “once in a blue moon,” but we quickly learned that it impacts 1 in 4 pregnancies. Today, the Griffin Cares blue moon serves as the inspiration behind our efforts to share support and spread awareness about baby loss.
The Griffin Cares Foundation logo features our blue moon and visually reflects the feeling of care and connection at the heart of our organization. It was designed in the colors of pregnancy and infant loss awareness as a show of support for all baby loss families.
