Siblings and children can enjoy kids crafts, field games, and stroller-friendly pathways. Personalized Yard Signs featuring your Baby’s name may be purchased to display along the Support Stroll Pathway.
No matter where you live, you are invited and welcome to be part of Remembrance Day! Register now to include your Baby’s name on our event materials and have their name read aloud during our Remembrance Ceremony. Virtual participants are invited to view our Remembrance Ceremony Livestream to reflect, remember, and feel the love of the Griffin Cares Community as we honor our loved and missed babies together.
In 1988, October was designated Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month to support families who are coping with losses including miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, and SIDS. Held with intention each October, Griffin Cares Foundation’s Remembrance Day event unites our community in a collective act of remembrance to honor all babies gone too soon. Remembrance Day is an annual tradition and our foundation’s biggest event. It also marks the centerpiece of our Annual Fundraiser which ensures that all Griffin Cares services are provided free of charge to bereaved families.
Remembrance Day is Griffin Cares Foundation’s biggest event of the year and we need volunteer support to make it a success. Our dedicated volunteer team ensures a seamless set up and creates a welcoming environment for all attendees. Griffin Cares Foundation’s Annual Fundraiser ensures that our peer support services are always available at no cost to bereaved families. Care Kits containing grief resources, personalized keepsakes, events for grieving Moms, Dads, and Siblings, and critical perinatal bereavement resources for hospitals are just a few of the programs made possible through the generosity of our donors. GCF’s Annual Fundraiser runs throughout Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, raising both awareness and funds to support families who are coping with loss.
Registration is highly encouraged and enables participants to include their Baby’s name on our remembrance materials. Please submit one registration form per household. Remembrance Day is a public event, so on-site registration will also be available.
No. Remembrance Day is a free event, and participation is open to the public. Funding for this event is generously provided by our event sponsors and foundation donors.
Yes, siblings and children are welcome. Griffin Cares recognizes that baby loss impacts the entire family and our team has designed Remembrance Day to be a meaningful and supportive experience for all ages. Kids crafts, field games, and a stroller-friendly stroll pathway are available.
Yes, strollers are welcome (and wagons for little ones for the Support Stroll!) and can easily be accommodated throughout the park.
Yes. Family members, friends, coworkers, and neighbors are all welcome to join us as we remember and honor loved ones together. Please encourage your support team to register in advance if possible.
Yes. The amphitheater and surrounding pathways are accessible for guests using wheelchairs or requiring mobility assistance.
Due to the reflective nature of the ceremony and crowd size, we recommend leaving pets at home. Service animals are always permitted.
Remembrance Day is an outdoor event, so please dress appropriately for the weather. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. If you would like to represent the colors of Griffin Cares Foundation and Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness, please consider wearing something blue or pink!
Yes. Volunteers from the Griffin Cares Foundation will be available throughout the event to assist with directions, seating, and any questions.
Yes. The Remembrance Ceremony will be recorded, and photos will be taken throughout the event to share with the community and support Griffin Cares Foundation. The ceremony will also be livestreamed from 3:00-4:00pm ET.
The event will be held at the Overpeck County Park Amphitheater at 111 Challenger Road in Ridgefield Park, New Jersey. A GPS pin is included in your registration confirmation.
Free parking is available throughout the park, with a large parking lot at the entrance closest to the amphitheater.
