Join us to learn, share and remember together

At every stage and in every season, Griffin Cares is here to support you on your grief journey. Our peer groups and programs are developed and run by loss parents, for loss parents, to help you connect with others who can truly understand.

Support Groups: Open Groups, held on the second Monday of each month, are forums to talk about the topics and questions on your mind with peers who can relate. Special Topics Groups, on the fourth Monday of each month, invite you to explore a shared experience or specific issue with a smaller group of peers. To receive meeting links for upcoming groups, please submit your information at Join a Group.

Special Events: Griffin Cares Foundation hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including our annual Remembrance Day Event in October, which is the awareness month for Pregnancy and Infant Loss. Registration links for all special events will be posted below as the event date approaches.

May Open Group

Monday, May 13, 2024

8:00-9:30pm EST

Life after baby loss can feel like a lonely journey but you don’t have to go through it alone. Join us at our monthly Open Group to connect with peers who get it, share your story, and talk about the issues that are on your mind. Meeting links and discussion prompts will be sent via email prior to each session.

May starts off with the emotional journey from Bereaved Mother’s Day to Mother’s Day. This month’s Open Group offers a space to process it all with a special Mother’s Day Debrief. Let’s share our experiences, honor the feelings in our hearts, and provide the extra nurturing we may need at this very tender time, from one Loss Mom to another.

May Special Topic: Pregnancy After Loss

Monday, May 20, 2024*

8:00 – 9:30pm ET

Pregnancy After Loss is an emotional journey that stretches our hearts to hold hope for the future alongside the sadness of grief. Our idealized vision of the “perfect pregnancy” has been shattered, leaving room for worry and anxiety, excitement and guilt, and pressure from others to “just be happy” now. We’re here to process it all and share tips and strategies to establish the supports you need to care for yourself and prepare to welcome your rainbow baby.

This group is designed for parents who are currently pregnant or considering another pregnancy following a loss. Parents who have have experienced PAL and would like to share their support and perspectives are also welcome.

*Please note date shift to the 3rd Monday in May due to the Memorial Day holiday.

June Special Topic: Father’s Grief

Monday, June 10, 2024*

8:00-9:30pm EST

With Father’s Day approaching, we are thrilled to be welcoming Kelly Farley, Founder of grievingdads.com and author of “He Lost His Baby Too” for an in-depth, honest conversation about Father’s Grief. This special group will offer time and space for Dads in our peer community to reflect on and learn more about the unique experience of grieving as a Dad following baby loss.

Birthing Parents and Partners are both welcome to attend to deepen their understanding and strengthen connections. As our Guest Co-Facilitator, Kelly Farley will host a special break-out conversation just for Loss Dads during this session.

*Please note that our June Special Topic Group will be held on the second Monday in advance of Father’s Day.

Life after baby loss can feel like a lonely journey but you don’t have to go through it alone. Join us at our monthly Open Group to connect with peers who get it, share your story, and talk about the issues that are on your mind. Meeting links and discussion prompts will be sent via email prior to each session.

The summer months are typically a time for vacation and happiness, but it’s easy to feel out of step with the sun and fun when you are in a dark place. As jackets are shed it is also harder to escape the sight of pregnant people everywhere, which can be triggering. This month, let’s talk about summertime coping strategies and practical tips for supporting your healing journey and staying grounded when the temperatures soar.

*Please note that our Open Group will be held on the fourth Monday in June.

Remembrance Day 2023

Sunday, October 15, 2023

4:00-5:30pm ET

This special virtual gathering brought the Griffin Cares Community together with family, friends, and caring allies and providers. The event featured parent speakers Rafi Stern and Penny King who shared their thoughts in honor of their son, Sam, as well as Bibi and Josh Miller, who spoke in honor of their son, Louis Winston. A special video presentation depicted the many beautiful, creative, and heartfelt ways our community remembers their precious babies with love. Special guest Maya Vander, star of Selling Sunset and loss mom to Mason, shared her personal journey through stillbirth, healing, and being a source of inspiration. Families lit candles to honor their babies and then joined together for a moment of reflection to view the names of all of children while Griffin’s Song gently played in the background.
