Working in the financial industry since 2010, Ada Perez is a licensed financial services professional for a life insurance company in New York City. As a dedicated wife and loving mother, Ada carries with her the indelible mark of family both in joy and sorrow. Originally from New York City, she now finds peace and solace in the tranquil woods of Pennsylvania, where she currently lives with her supportive husband, Alfredo, their older son, Jiraiya, and their rainbow baby, Isaiah. Being around nature has brought peace to the Perez family, as they enjoy spending time outdoors.
In 2019, Ada and her family suffered the unexpected loss of Elijah due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The family was devastated as they were expecting to celebrate his first birthday later that same week.
Ada honors her late son, Elijah, keeping him close to her heart by her volunteer and advocacy work. Since the death of Elijah, Ada returned to academia for her BS in Psychology from Drexel University. Ada also participates in a program that offers grief training for school educators and other personnel to support grieving children. In 2023, her passion for supporting others inspired her to author a guided journal, aiming to provide a helpful tool for others on a healing journey.
Ada became involved with Griffin Cares in 2019, shortly after the death of Elijah. Benefitting herself from the caring work of the Griffin Cares community has inspired Ada’s ongoing efforts with the foundation. Ada was motivated to become more involved, using her skills and experience with baby loss and grief to support other families who have experienced this life-changing tragedy. She strives for her work as a member of the Griffin Cares board to have a positive impact on the community so they may know that there is hope after loss.
